How to add value to a traditional West End home

Milltimber Farmhouse Extension

Our client approached us with a vision to creat a unique family space for thier growing family. They wanted to connect the outside with in, taking full advantage of the large garden that the side of the existing farmhouse dwelling opened onto. The existing farmhouse has numerous extensions added to it over its lifetime thus creating many closed spaces that didn't flow or connect with each other.

Milltimber Farmhouse Extension

Tinto created a contemporary extension that blended and sat well into the wooded setting surrounding the site. Untreated Siberian Larch cladding fixed vertically mimicking the trees in the background encased the main extension envelope. To the side a less imposing pitched roof extension in wet dash render to complement the existing farmhouse, accommodated the plant equipment that heated the dwelling. The flush decking leading from the extension onto the garden connects the extension to the landscape well. Result - A wonderful family house with open plan living/kitchen/dining becoming the heart of the home.
